Reverend James Smith was called into the ministry by God in 1978. He began his Christian studies at the Baltimore School of the Bible, then at Arlington Baptist Bible College. After completing courses and seminars at the Washington Bible College, he evangelized in North Carolina, New York, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Reverend Smith served as assistant to the Pastor of The Righteous Church of God in Washington D.C. for ten years while Elder Vicks was on extended sick leave. He was led to change his membership and joined the New Psalmist Baptist Church where he worked as a Bible instructor in discipleship training. He was a volunteer minister in the prison system and was a scheduled preacher at the Jessup State Correctional System and the Baltimore Halfway House of Greenmount Avenue. He also, visited the Wayward Boys Home for troubled youth and the Hagerstown Prison System to conduct services. Reverend Smith attended the Chesapeake Seminary after receiving his BA degree from the Arlington Baptist Bible College and he continues to follow his leading to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (II Timothy 2:15). From October 1997 to December 2000, Reverend Smith preached and taught the Word at Little Rock. He continued to preach the Word as a Minister of Visitation at New Shiloh Baptist Church in Baltimore and is currently serving as an Associate Minister at Christian Community Church of God in Baltimore. His passion encouraged him to preach the Word in season and out of season, that the Lost can be saved and the Saved may be revived.
